Selected from across 130 Akal Academies through written tests, interviews and merit-based selection, students join the programme after Grade X and simultaneously pursue their 11th and 12th education while preparing for the National Defence Academy.
From Nitnem and value-based living to personality development, communication skills, physical endurance and leadership training, the programme is designed to nurture strong minds, disciplined individuals and responsible future officers.
With guidance from experienced military mentors, students learn dedication, discipline, and patriotism, preparing them mentally, physically, and emotionally to serve the nation with honour.
Akal Academy for Defence Training, Chunni Kalan, is inspired by the vision of Sant Baba Iqbal Singh Ji.

Congratulations to Granth Singh, Amrit Singh Walia, and Mahesh Rathi of Grade 10th, for qualifying for the International Level of AI Codeavour 7.0, to be held in Indonesia.
Their project, Anti-Collision System for Trucks, progressed from the Zonal Round in Delhi to the National Competition in Bengaluru and has now advanced to the International stage.
The project was developed with the objective of improving road safety and reducing accidents involving heavy vehicles. Using ultrasonic sensors, microcontrollers and Python-based programming, the system detects obstacles ahead and automatically applies staged braking based on distance, helping prevent collisions caused by delayed reaction time, fatigue, or low visibility conditions.
What makes the project especially meaningful is its focus on creating an affordable and practical safety solution that can be integrated even into existing trucks and buses. The team is now further enhancing the model by integrating driver sleep alert and anti-theft features.
The project also aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being, supporting safer roads and reduction in accident-related injuries.

On the pious occasion of the 100th Birth Anniversary of Sant Baba Iqbal Singh Ji, a five-day Samagam concluded on 1st May at Baru Sahib. During the samagam, continuous Shabad Kirtan and Paath were offered at Gurdwara Sri Baru Sahib, Gurdwara Sri Kacha Kotha Sahib and Gurdwara Sri Angeetha Sahib.
Alongside Hazuri Raagi Jathas from Sri Harmandar Sahib, Amritsar and Kathawachaks from Takht Sri Harmadar Ji, Patna Sahib, students of Akal Academy Baru Sahib, from Nursery to Class 12, also participated in offering Shabad Kirtan and Paath.
Amrit Sanchar was organised on this sacred occasion, during which several students humbly received Amrit. Devotees from different parts of North India also visited to pay obeisance at the Gurdwara Sahib.
