Talking of Baru Sahib creates nostalgia and I have been linked to this institution by God's grace, truly speaking, the blessings of God and contributions of Sant Baba Iqbal Singh Ji have changed my life. I was from a poor Hindu family, my father is handicapped. There was a curse in our family that which ever child was born used to die soon, but my grandmother (Mrs. Ram Kali), a pure God lover prayed to God that whenever next son is born, we will make him SIKH. So the prayer was answered. I was born and survived, so I became a SIKH. Then one day Baba Ji came to Kanpur for a religious tour, there my father met him, and prayed him for our admission. So Baba Ji brought me and my brother to this school. Here we were helped financially and provided good education and taught the moral values. After spending around 13 years here, I passed out 12th in 2000 March. Then after that since I was of Science stream and had a goal in my mind to be a good Doctor. I decided to appear for Medical Entrance Exams. I had failure for 1st year, but the teachings of Baru Sahib and Naam-Simran kept my moral up, and after dropping one year, got a seat in UP-CPMT, on the 2nd attempt in Santosh Medical College, Ghaziabad. Now I am in final year M.B.B.S. My future prospects are to be a good Doctor and help the sick ones.
About my success, the teachings of Gurbani from Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji gave me a moral boost which helped me a lot to gain success in my life. I would convey my message to juniors that “HARD-WORK IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS”. But the spiritual past of your life and your religion should be maintained as such ‘IT GIVES YOU A DIFFERENT IDENTITY'.
I have experienced it myself, It helps a lot, just try to continue this in your later life, your will observe the changes in you and around your surroundings. I am very happy that my school is progressing very fast, a new university is being set up here. I will surely help the progress of this university in whatever way I can. Also there is an Akal Hospital coming up. So after becoming a Doctor, I will come here to perform Sewa.
Lastly, I would like to pay a lot of thanks to Baba Ji and other faculty members of this institution and my friends, who cared a lot for me and supported me. Because of them, I am able to stand on my feet today. My full credit and regards to them.
Keep this good work up!!
